Hey Chanhassen! Part of Highway 41 closes today through mid-summer as construction season officially gets underway. On a brighter note, the Chanhassen Lions Club is flipping pancakes at Hackamore this Sunday. Here's what's chanhappenin'.

Missed our newsletter on March 23? We covered the story every Chanhassen resident needs to know about — Old St. Hubert Church, the last original building in downtown Chanhassen, is facing demolition. Read it here.

Hackamore Brewing — Chanhassen's Neighborhood Brewery

Hackamore Brewing Company didn't start with a business plan. It started with a name — Hackamore Circle, the street in Corcoran where founder Zac Gleason grew up. That sense of home is baked into everything the brewery is today.

Nestled off Highway 5 and Dell Road, Hackamore opened with a simple but ambitious vision: bring an elevated, welcoming gathering place to Chanhassen that the community could truly call its own. The result is a 10,700-square-foot space featuring rotating craft beers on tap, live music on a built-in stage, a state-of-the-art golf simulator, and a patio that's become a warm-weather staple for local families. And with food trucks on site many nights of the week, you don't need to drink to have a great time.

Justin, who has worked at Hackamore since day one, puts it best:

"The minute you walk in you're greeted with tons of natural light and a huge variety of seating options. Add to that a rock star group of beertenders who genuinely want to make every customer's experience perfect — top it all off with a great community and you have a great experience. Whether you come multiple times a week or once a year, you can belly up to the bar and have a friendly chat with anyone."

Oh, and the beer? Justin says the Let's Go Hazy IPA is lights out — and rarely leaves the tap list.

Phase 1 Closure, City of Chanhassen

  • Road Closures Starting Today — Plan Ahead

Heads up if Highway 41 or Bavaria Road are part of your regular route — closures begin today, April 6th. West 78th Street between Market Boulevard and Laredo Drive also closes today for Roers utility installations (see picture above for closure details). Construction season is here. Visit chanhassenmn.gov for more details.

  • Chanhassen Recently Passed a Law to Protect Its Biggest Trees

The City Council unanimously adopted a new Heritage Tree Ordinance this year, formally protecting trees 25 inches in diameter or greater during development. Developers who remove them beyond a 25 percent allowance now face replacement requirements. It's a quiet but meaningful step toward preserving Chanhassen's natural character as the city keeps growing.

  • Market Boulevard Project Open House — April 8th

The city is hosting a public open house for the Market Boulevard Improvement Project on Wednesday, April 8th from 4:30–6:30 PM at Chanhassen City Hall. If you drive, bike, or walk that route regularly, this is your chance to see the plans and ask questions before construction gets underway. Details here.

  • The City's Annual Tree Sale Is Back

The City of Chanhassen's residential tree sale is back through April 24, offering eight species of containerized trees ranging from $15–$50. A simple way to add some green to your yard while supporting the local tree canopy. Details at chanhassenmn.gov.

We know Chanhassen is full of good people doing good things every single day — we just need you to tell us about it.

Did a neighbor wave you through at a four-way stop and then do something even nicer? Did someone at O.G. Coffee pay it forward? Did a stranger help you dig your car out, hold a door, or just make your day a little better?

Send your story to [email protected] — a sentence or two is all it takes. The best submission each week gets a $10 gift card to a local Chanhassen business.

We can't wait to start sharing them.
